Hmmmm.... In the cyber circles this was actually thought of as a good idea.

There are many ways to keep things relevant. Additionally, even if both nations continue their stance, yet they collaborate against other nation state actors there is an upside to this.

As for the blubbering politicians talking about cyber? They can barely find the bathroom...

    "Cyber" circles?

It is generally a good idea to avoid any contacts with the KGB. Collaboration implies a level of trust; a KGB spy is inherently untrustworthy. You guys better heed Soviet dissident experience on this.

Many self-described elite [leftists] politicians are completely detached from the will of the people and they have found the nearest and most convenient bathroom: which is openly crapping on the will of the American people. That is why the leftist constituency is shrinking.

It's hard to comment on this proposal without access to the details on what it would include.

I don't favor the US sharing its NSA or CIA secrets with the Russians. Assuming that there are any NSA or CIA secrets that haven't already been leaked and aren't all over Wikileaks. (The US intelligence agencies are in crisis for multiple reasons.) And I don't expect the Russians to share their secrets with us.

But US/Russia cooperation could be very useful against more typical e-criminals and when things like the recent cyber-extortion viruses hit around the world. It would also be helpful when third-party state and non-state actors get out of hand.

We are going to be seeing more of that, since e-crime, e-espionage and e-terrorism is something that countries/organizations with limited resources can contemplate, provided that they have the technical capacity.

I travel in those circles, and no one I know in them would agree.
