Writing that food safety was important "as we try not to kill our customers" and that he was looking for a "slave to boss around the cafe" did bring in applications, but the graduate students association shuttered the cafe and had security escort him off campus. Shameful.
Hmmmm...well, the choice of words may not have been in the BEST of taste, but this response seems a bit extreme. What happened to a good old-fashioned boycott? If all of the GSA members had boycotted and told their friends to boycott, the cafe would have felt the heat, but to simply be shut down over a bad joke does not seem fitting. Instead, because a select group of students feels offended by the cafe, ALL cafe visitors must be affected.
