There has been a lot of coverage of the Clinton Foundation, but I haven't seen a lot of in-depth coverage of the Trump Foundation on cable news. Of course, I'm not able to watch the three main cable news stations 24/7. So far, I've only seen them talk about how Trump used money from the Trump Foundation to illegally pay for paintings and legal fees.

On NPR, which did a one-hour report on the Clinton Foundation, they interviewed a Washington Post journalist on his investigation of the Trump Foundation. He explained that there are two Clinton Foundations. There is the Clinton Family Foundation that is funded entirely by them. Part of the money goes to the larger Clinton Foundation that accepts donations from others. The rest of the money goes directly to other charities. The Trump Foundation is similar to the Clinton Family Foundation due to its size, but it holds no Trump family money. It is entirely funded by donors.

The most interesting finding, in my opinion, is that Trump used money from the Trump Foundation to donate money to the Florida attorney general's reelection campaign, which is also illegal. At the time, Florida was looking into whether or not they should sue Trump University after receiving complaints. After Trump made the campaign contribution, the investigation stopped. The attorney general, Pam Bondi, did say she returned the money once her campaign found out it came from charity donations.
