    I agree:

Geez! Trompeta just had to to a cheap shot at the parents of a Gold Star recipient! The guy has no limits as he has proven time after time. Couldn't he have tried to respond or not respond in a somewhat classy manner for once? Just once?

Regardless of what one thinks of Trump's politics I think striking back at Khan was a big mistake.

Cindy Sheehan lashed out at Bush. But Bush had the good sense not to publicly insult her.

I'll be curious if this impacts Trump's support or if it only irritates the people who were already against him.

It's hard to say. Conventional wisdom does not seem to apply to Trompeta. I can only imagine the outrage if a Democrat said that McCain wasn't a war hero because he got caught! What the fuck! I don't think principled Republicans like McCain can hold their tongues any longer, or at least I hope so. How Anti-American can you get? McCain not a war hero? How insulting to POW's and all Veterans for that matter. And now Trump couldn't keep his trap shut in this instance.

I do think when things settle down, and cool head prevail after the election, people will look back and see who spoke out, and who just went along with the Trump train. The future of the RNC is a strange predicament indeed.

This is actually one of the least offensive defenses he's had for himself with the exception of what he said about Ghazala Khan. That was tasteless. However, I think his answer was more idiotic than offensive. How can he compare sacrificing one's own life or a family member in war with creating thousands of jobs? He said that he sacrificed a lot by creating jobs. Really? So, he didn't make billions when he created those jobs? I doubt he got into the real estate business to create jobs. Nonetheless, he's also being condemned by the VFW and a couple of other military groups.

I totally don't get this one, nor is it easy to let this weekends Trump escapade with Stephanopolas go.

Had he simply remained mute no one outside the Democratic party would even remember this guys name. Instead Trump has decent folks lining up to swing back...honestly I think most of what appear to be Trump mistakes end up endearing him to his base...but he may have stepped in it a bit on this one. Though McCain (despite how much I appreciate his actual sacrifices for this country) has become something of a RINO and his railings are only perceived as so much hot air by the current anti establishment wing of the GOP. A Muslim man whose son died in uniformed service to the country is much harder to ignore.

And that whole Crimea/Georgia thing...damn dude, fake a seizure or something. WTH was that? I've voted "the lesser of" for some time now, and I won't vote for Hillary, but Trump makes this more difficult every day.

Trump said that he could shoot someone and not lose votes. I believe that to be true. His supporters will vote for him no matter what. I don't think he stepped in it this time because he never faces any real consequences for the stupid stuff he says and does. I've never had anyone give me a good reason for voting for Trump. In my opinion, being politically incorrect is not a reason to vote for someone. Billions of people are politically incorrect everyday. That doesn't mean they will make a good president.

Trump's best hope remains that he is running against Hillary Clinton.
