    FYI,

Donald Trump's ghostwriter says he regrets 'Art of the Deal'

"In an interview with the New Yorker, Schwartz said he "put lipstick on a pig," and that if he were writing the book today it would be called by a very different title: "The Sociopath."

Yeah, what could go wrong with having a President who is a sociopath?

I'm still hoping this is a practical joke gone too far; and, if Trump happens to win, he'll start to act more rationally.

If civilization is to end any time soon, it certainly would be no surprise to me if Trump was either the catalyst or the initiator. Still, is that such a bad thing? Not like civilization is doing so great as it is.

Trump is more likely a narcissist than a sociopath, and there is a big difference between the two. Narcissists have little to no empathy whereas sociopaths have no conscience. You can work with some narcissists, with much difficulty. Sociopaths are for all intents and purposes, hopeless.

Between the two, I'd peg Hilary Clinton as more likely to be a sociopath than Donald Trump, but that's just a hunch based upon superficial observation and generalizations from various books n' stuff I've read. Not that I think Clinton actually is a sociopath- she lacks the prototypical charisma and probably does genuinely love her family and her pets, even if she doesn't give a rats butt about you or I.

It probably is, but we're way past the point where that even matters anymore.

I admire your optimism and wish I could share it, but I, on the otherhand I have no hope that this guy will act like anything but a colossal db until the very last breath that he takes.

It's believed that many successful companies are headed by sociopaths. Most sociopaths are no danger to society, even if they make life harder for some. I'm more concerned about Trump's competence and biases against certain groups than whether or not he's a sociopath or narcissist. His temperament and immaturity, though, could play a role in how he interacts with domestic and foreign politicians.

I still believe that Trump's campaign is all one big troll. Pence was the icing on the cake. I'm not sure what demographic Pence could reasonably deliver to a presidential candidate and he was virtually unknown outside of his home state except for a flap over LGBT rights.

Even then, he backed down from the fight as soon as he sparked outrage. So he's opposed by the LGBT community. And he's a wuss to the anti-LGBT community. Looks like a self-sabotaging move. I'd bet that Trump's uncertainty over his running mate was really to see which pick would damage his campaign the most. Chris Christie would have been bad but only people in New York and New Jersey can fully appreciate what a schmuck move that bridge lane closure thing was.

Pence is someone that everyone can hate.

Now he's trying to appeal to Bernie voters. I wouldn't be surprised if he straight up publicly offered Bernie some sort of appointment to ostensibly win those supporters over fully. That would pretty much drive double digit percentages of his former supporters to the Libertarian ticket.

All I know is that even the most implausible House of Cards subplots now seem completely reasonable.

Considering how far to right the current Republican Party is, I don't think Pence is that bad of a choice until you start to compare his positions to Trump's. Pence has had some of the same positions Trump has attacked Clinton for.

Yes, and Ronald Reagan "Ronnie Raygun" was going to cause a nuclear world war that led to the destruction of the world. The Democrats actually pushed that idea in 1980, Didn't quite work out that way, did it?

Wow, the Democrats are getting desperate.

There are always sensationalists on both sides.

During the 2008 election I knew people who told me they were getting passports just in case McCain won the election. They wanted to have the passports handy to flee before he shut down the borders.

    Ridiculous.

Just as ridiculous as "Obama is a crypto-Muslim who is going to steal all of our guns and impose Sharia law." Also in 2008 I have, most regrettably, a blood relative who maxed out a credit card buying all of the guns and ammunition he could and then buried it in a series of Pelican cases which he encased in concrete in his back yard. Why? Because Obama's mobile gun seizing patrols probably wouldn't look there.*

The people who perpetuate this bunk are, more often than not, stocking homemade bunkers with buckets of rice and beans and really hoping that this is the day their predictions will come to fruition.

In my opinion society tends to fluctuate like the stock market. It generally trends upward over a long period of time but, year by year, it has its peaks and valleys. The Bush years weren't all bad (unless you were stuck in Iraq or Afghanistan) and I fully attribute my first mortgage (secured without a down payment and using only two months of pay stubs) to the subprime monster that GWB encouraged. I also survived the economic collapse under Obama (though most would attribute that to the policies that preceded him).

Jobs get created. Jobs get eliminated. Stocks rise. Stocks fall. Sunrise. Sunset.

The person in the Oval Office only impacts our lives so much. When we start seeing constitutional amendments being proposed I'll probably become a little more concerned. But over all I have confidence that either candidate will be as disappointingly mediocre as all of their predecessors.

I saw a list somewhere where these far left nut jobs were saying the same thing about Reagan. I'm on the left but not full blown left like Abner. I can see clearly that Trump is not the nut job the far left makes him out to be. Just like Obama was not as bad as the right thought he would be....although he has set us blacks back in America as far as relations with whites go a long way. I look at the obsession some have on this board and think these people seem logical until it comes to politics. I bet you $100 that not one of them have watched his interviews over the years. Also they have no idea how bad we on the boarder states have it with immigrants over running our systems. I was voting Sanders but I will never vote Hilary. I'm with Trump for his immigration stance, my brother just waited 13 hours in line at the ER. It was like being in a third world country.......stuffs bad, real bad.

I am full blown left because I don't like Trump? Ah, ok then. You don't know all of my views, and I don't have the need or desire to explain them all to you. Last time you went off on some bizarre rant about me calling for cops to be shot or some weird shit like that. I got to ask you, what the fuck is wrong with you? I don't like Trump, and I am sorry if you or anyone else doesn't like what I have to say about him, but you see, I just don't care if you are offended. :) As a proud American, I am going to say what I am going to say.

I do know that you are a plumber and you say you are poorer than shit and you always seem to be waiting in ER rooms to see the doctor. Hmmm. I have a suggestion for you. Go get a union plumber job dude! Holy shit! the plumbers I know make bank! Work union, you'll live better.
