"On the campaign trail in Wisconsin last month, he attacked Republicans who he said would cut Social Security benefits."

"It's my absolute intention to leave Social Security the way it is," Trump said during a Republican debate in March. "I want to make our country rich again so we can afford it."

"I think after the administration's been in place, then we will start to take a look at all of the programs, including entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare," Clovis said at an event hosted by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation."

"The foundation is known for its attacks on deficit spending, and it supports revamping Social Security and Medicare."

You know, of course, that these things don't matter a bit to his followers. They like him because he "tells it like it is," even if it is, seemingly, several different things simultaneously.

This election will come down to one thing and one thing only: does he have enough supporters? He can do almost any self-destructive thing and not dissuade them, so pointing out his hypocrisies, racism, sexism, flip-flopping, and an utter lack of understanding of policy and national security does no good. His followers don't care. They don't understand what's happening to them and want someone to do something (preferably to someone else)!

So, again, the question is, are there enough of these people to vote him in as President? The quality of the opposition, world events, nothing else matters.
