How about the KKK is irrelvant. When was the last time the KKK had a lynching? When was the last time the KKK was tied to committing a crime? The African-American people has more devastating things within it's own community than to worry about a long dead (or very much dying) organization such as the KKK.

But, some people find comfort in the boogey man. It keeps them warm with hatred and provides ready made excuses for their own short comings.

I agree with this version of Malcolm X - "I believe in the brotherhood of man, all men, but I don't believe in brotherhood with anybody who doesn't want brotherhood with me. I believe in treating people right, but I'm not going to waste my time trying to treat somebody right who doesn't know how to return the treatment."

And not this version of Malcolm X - "The common enemy is the white man."

More love and understanding - "I've never seen a sincere white man, not when it comes to helping black people. Usually things like this are done by white people to benefit themselves. The white man's primary interest is not to elevate the thinking of black people, or to waken black people, or white people either. The white man is interested in the black man only to the extent that the black man is of use to him. The white man's interest is to make money, to exploit." - This one stikes me as particularily funny considering how many white teachers try to help out in predominantly black areas.

This is an interesting gem too - "If I have a cup of coffee that is too strong for me because it is too black, I weaken it by pouring cream into it. I integrate it with cream. If I keep pouring enough cream in the coffee, pretty soon the entire flavor of the coffee is changed; the very nature of the coffee is changed. If enough cream is poured in, eventually you don't even know that I had coffee in this cup. This is what happened with the March on Washington. The whites didn't integrate it; they infiltrated it. Whites joined it; they engulfed it; they became so much a part of it, it lost its original flavor. It ceased to be a black march; it ceased to be militant; it ceased to be angry; it ceased to be impatient. In fact, it ceased to be a march."

But yes. The KKK are cowards.

    ^^^^^^^This.

The KKK is totally irrelevant these days; they've become a parody of themselves, and aren't even worth worrying about.

My post was not incite modern times ins constrast to old times to new times.. Thoiugh, we cannot turn our backs towards "skin heads" and the like. Certain "skins" have joined forces with the Christiian Identity movement, as well as other Chrisitian movements.

I can't make this stuff up. Hmm.

I worry more about Mexican/South Amer. gangs than the KKK.

I disagree, X was a hater monger and a racist.

A 13 yoa w/m friend of the family was attacked with a knife in school for being white by a Latin Kings gang member.

In my neighborhood the Latin Kings (and Queens) are super tough. Steer clear. Wide bearth. Walk away. Learn to box.

So now it's not the KKK, but those other white devils the "skinheads". You certainly can make this stuff up. You just did. And you threw in an evil Christianity attack as well. You should just go for the trifecta and say the right wing conservatives want to legalize rape too. Hmm.

I am willing to bet you that there were more black on white attacks last year than there were "skins" attacks on blacks in the past five years.

Didn't he change his mind about a lot of that after he made the pilgrimage to Mecca?

Yes, because he saw blue-eyed blonde followers of Islam. Many speculate that he was in fact killed by Nation of Islam followers (the always happy and coherent Louis Farrakhan) when he split from that group following his Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca).

I would like to take this opportunity to come to Abner’s defense, not that he needs it but still. As part of my job in law enforcement I had to study groups like the KKK and various Skinhead and Neo-Nazi organizations because they tended to have overlap with both Christian Identity groups and the Sovereign Citizen movements. BTW… “Christian Identity” groups resemble actual Christianity in the absolute, most superficial way imaginable…pretty much in that they both believe in God and have the word “Christian” in their literature, that’s about it.

That said the KKK is irrelevant for the most part, even in places like Vidor, Texas where they traditionally have had a stronghold. The other groups are a minor nuisance on their best day with the exception of 2 areas, the first is in prison gangs where the Aryan Brotherhood and like groups remain a force to be dealt with and in the methamphetamines trade. White supremacists love that doctored up allergy medicine, for sure. The Sovereign Citizen movement is also a law enforcement concern simply because they do not recognize the courts or police as having any real authority. When they aren’t being general pains in the butt they like to print fake bonds, cash and other financial instruments, they also like to fake license plates, driver’s licenses and other legal documents (they consider the U.S. and state issued ones to be irrelevant). They also occasionally get violent as in a “we’re starting the revolution right here, right now, kind of way”. And yes, just to put the cherry on a psychotic cake, none of these groups view minorities and those of mixed race with anything short of contempt (and that’s on a good day). But ultimately these groups are the “mole hill” on a mountain.

That does not mean that the Mexican and South American gangs are not a mountain of a problem compared to the above mentioned mole hill. MS13, Los Zetas and all kinds of other wonderful gangs like to run around causing mayhem and violence that would shock even battle hardened troops. From human trafficking to hit squads operating within the U.S. these bad boys have it all and they do not hesitate for one second to bestow high order violence on anyone and everyone they see fit, to include law enforcement. Since Mexico and South America provide safe havens for them if they catch heat, they can do so almost without fear. And are these guys racists? More than that, they are often nationalists (which is more dangerous) and almost always regionally territorial (to the point that North Mexicans try and kill Southern Mexicans). It gets complicated.

And Malcom X was an unashamed racist who believed in fighting that which he hated most by becoming that which he hated most.
