You'd think he could at least name three? Even if they were not really the ones he had in mind it would have been better than this. He serioulsy cannot think of three federal agencies?

At least he's taking it with humor.

Damn!!! Then the poor guy turns to Ron Paul, and Ron lets him sink like a boulder in a pond!

I don't care for Perry as a candidate, but that was painful to watch, and I do agree he's at least taking it as well as can be expected.

It's the death a thousand cuts with Perry....his stand on illegal aliens ("You don't have a heart"), his drunken rambling, and now forgetting one of the cornerstones of his campaign....taken together, they've made him borderline irrelevant in the primary.

Except that he is contesting someone who speaks as if every day is opposite day (Bachman), someone who admittedly needs foreign policy tutoring, believes the constitution doesn't apply to Muslims and has a potentially checkered past (Cain), someone who only breathes in air molecules that conform to his marginal ideology (Paul), someone who doesn't say the things that he says (Gingrich), and someone whose name can not be Googled in a public school (Santorum). This leaves only the person who's about a quark more conservative than Obama and whose religion weirds out the very people who put a guy just like him into the candidate seat (Romney) vs a bunch of people who don't even exist (Jimmy "Rent is 2... High" McMillan and Johathan "mini-Romney" Huntsman among others)

How quickly people forget....religious issues aside, people were saying many of the same things about Ronald Reagan as they now are about Romney. Bother former governors of traditionally liberal states who were/are criticized for not being conservative enough, and who lost their first bid for the White House (in Reagan's case, his first two bids).

I've said it before....Romney has the chance to become this generation's Ronald Reagan.

Its almost as bad as Obama saying there are 57 states.
Or the one that just happened yesterday when he thought Hawaii was in Asia. Hawaii is his own home state right?

Well, the Asia-Pacific region, anyway. It's close enough to Asia that Japanese executives fly there to play golf. But no, I still wouldn't say it's "in Asia".

Accidentally saying 57 instead of 47 or 37, not a huge deal. Not knowing YOUR OWN policy, big-honking-huge deal.

There are 50 states. I don't know why Obama thought there were 57. I know he is a smart guy, but its strange that the media never jumped on it and made fun of him. Its almost like the media plays favorites. That cannot be possible, however. The media are totally objective.

The trusty Snopes says he had been to 47 states and misspoke.

btw, could he also have been thinking of primaries, or state-level party organizations? 50 states plus DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, the USVIs, American Samoa, the CNMIs, and Democrats Abroad is 57 exactly.

Yep, just like you would be if you were in the media.

Oh, and yes, the media did make fun of him. Mercilessly. I don't know what channels you were watching :smashfreakB:

    Obama Love 3.0 - YouTube

Funny little video that shows some Obama love from the media.
I get a thrill up my leg when I see Carrie Underwood, not Obama :)

Maybe he thought that the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, Samoa, the Trust Territory of the Pacific, and the the Virgin Islands had been granted statehood. (Darn, that's only 56!)

You mean the Japanese Empire no longer owns Hawaii?

Well, if he was thinking of state-level party organizations as he was campaigning in the primaries, take those and add Democrats Abroad and that actually would be 57.

    Shh, you're ruining a good anti-Obama story.
