Why is there such venom in political discussions here?

    you'd think someone insulted their mother or something! Granted, some are trolls, but some of the ones who are left still scare me.

    You know the answer to that. Some people haven't learned to accept that other people view the world differently. They consider the mere existence of a disagreement as evidence of a conspiracy to destroy life as we know it, which must be combated at all costs!!! Here is a list of everything I have ever learned from reading political discussions on the internet:

    • Liberals are Hitler.
    • Conservatives are Hitler.
    • There are only two sides to every issue. My side, and the wrong side.
    • If an intelligent person is confident in his beliefs, he is obstinate and irrational.
    • If an intelligent person is presented evidence which changes his mind, he is a flip-flopper.
    • If a member of another political party has personal failings, it is deserving of a federal investigation.
    • If a member of my own political party has personal failings, it is a private matter.
    • The evidence always shows that I am right and you are wrong. Even when it doesn't.

    They scare you? Present your side of the argument. You will not dissapear, nor will a cucui or fantasma (phantom) come to you in the dead of night to claim your soul.

    I never really thought they were that bad. If you read some threads, there is a give and take. All said and done, I don't think they should scare you. If they really do, MC will hold you at night till you fall asleep, thats what mods are for.

    Agreed, I don't think they're that bad at all, especially compared with some forums. Even those of us who are disagreeing vehemently are doing so more about issues than personalities.

    I can tell you from experience that that stuff works on cockroaches superbly. However, for Beck (not BEEEECK!!!!), I would need a "buque" rather than a "bote." :)
