I may have to be away from my computer for the next few days. I wanted to say that it's clear that on this board we have a great diversity of political opinions. That's good for us and good for America. Please get out and vote in this election. Don't let it slip by. It's one of the most important things you can do.

Yes, I had the opportunity to send in my vote by what's called in Ohio the early voting process. The concept of "early voting": Go down to [XYZ] County Board of Elections, get registered (if you are not already - dont worry :D , I am - I voted in that last and really close presidential election), and apply for "early voting" ballot, then mark said ballot and (a) mail it in - well, a bit late for getting it mailed in now :D - lol! - or else (b) physically hand deliver it by no later than Election Day. I passed up the "early voting" opportunity. Transportation difficulties (no car, local bus system small and "by appointment only" - i.e., meaning at least one full business days' notice before the small [8-seater] van-style bus shows up in your driveway - i.e., no random serendipitous trips) precluded me from utilizing this option (as it would have meant asking the bus to pick me up at home in west county and then while driving me over to east county for counseling appointments and to volunteer at the humane society to drop me off for a little while - how long is that? - in mid-county to drop in on the Board of Elections to "early vote" - then how does that change bus fare [for my broke worthless a--] for the extra drop-off and wait for the next van-bus to pick me up again to continue on to east county? - as opposed to going directly from home in west county to east county counseling appointments and dog & cat shelter and directly back to home in west county with no additional temporary stop-offs in mid-county). So, as you can see, it's much easier to just wait till about 6 AM or so Tuesday morning, take a brisk walk down to the high schoool, ask where in the high school all the voting's going on, give cmy vote of confidence to whomever I consider the best man (or woman) for the job, and then ask the party if there's any more possible need for volunteering or whether to maybe just go home and watch the election results and then go celebrate (um, well, uh, maybe ... and, then again, maybe not ... at least until 2012 or even 2016!!!   :D - lol!)

Vote on the issues and vote in peace. Some of you and I will vote with others who have different candidate preferences and political ideologies. In the end, we are Americans who are exercising our right to vote. We are all in this together. We are all members of the same club. Each and every one of you are citizens of the this wonderful nation voting for the same fundamental purpose, to live in freedom and prosperity.

Walked down to the polls and voted first thing in the morning. Arrived 6:40 AM (ten minutes after official opening time). Walked out circa 7:15 AM.
