Eugene McCarthy dies

The United States Senator credited for LBJ's decision not to seek his party's nomination for another term as president, Minnesota's Eugene McCarthy, has died.

I was never a McCarthy fan but credit him for his courageous move to challenge an incumbent president, although it wasn't the first time it had happened.

A sad day, indeed...

...made worse by the news that comedian Richard Pryor has also passed away today (Saturday).

There was only one politician and one entertainer where I cried when they died--Bobby Kennedy and Elvis Presley.

 

I got a little choked-up watching Ronald Reagan's funeral.

 

I really felt sorry for Nancy. The press was not very respectful during the final stages.
