I find it very interesting and almost hypocritical that several members of the 9/11 Commission are former office holders, to wit:

    1. Tom Kean, former governor of NJ. Did nothing to strengthen security while governor.

    2. Lee Hamilton, former congressman. No bill authored to strengthen U.S. security.

    3. Bob Kerrey, former Nebraska governor and senator. No bill authored to strengthen U.S. security and no work toward securing Nebraska's borders.

Was Democratic presidential candidate in 1992. Nothing in campaign about securing borders.

    4. Slade Gorton, former Washington senator. No bill authored to strengthen U.S. borders.

    5. Jim Thompson, former Illinois governor. Did nothing to strengthen state's borders.

    One thing right

They did one thing right. They effectively froze the assets of many terrorist groups.

Okay, when and who? And how did this action protect borders?

    Financing is important to terrorists.

This secure borders crud is a pipedream. For years I watched 10's of thousands East German border guards try to keep people from crossing a highly fortified border with the west. They never did shut it down and it was a fraction of the length of the US border. Thinking we we can do it is, quite frankly, stupid. Politics as usual by the members of the so called 9/11 commission...
