    Time to go....

In almost every previous two term administration there were departures of key staff members shortly after reelection and about halfway through the second term. Primarily, this allowed the departing staff to parlay their connections into lucrative post White House positions.

This article seems to argue that that is a good thing and I for one agree. This has not happened in this administration and has lead to careless mistakes (albeit some of the "problems" are more media hype than anything else). This outflow brings new energy and ideas to invigorate the staff and to keep the stew fresh so to speak.....

My take on Rove is the same take I have for Delay and Gingrich. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. In these cases, you life by slamming others and taking them down politically (and personally), it always comes back on you. Gingrich could have gone down as one of the best speakers. Instead of taking charge, he choose to whine and bitch because he couldn't get over the fact that a second rate politician from a third rate state would win over a standing President. In the end, he lost. Delay made a career doing the same thing. He will lose. Rove made an entire adult lifetime out of the same political games. In the end, he will lose a friendless empty shell of a man. (his only friend, a loser President who accomplished little)

Boy have you got it wrong....

You guys need to bone up on the political system in this country. Gingrich was made by the fact Bill Clinton was elected. If Bush had won, Gingrich might have simply continued to be a junior Congressman from Georgia. Bush was not an extremely partisan person and he would not have viewed Gingrich's rise in the House with favor. However, in Bush's absence, Gingrich managed to orchestrate the Republican takeover of Congress during the 1994 mid-term elections and because he had a sitting president of the opposing party he became the main Republican character in national politics and he gloried in it. If the President had been a Republican that title and the credit would have gone to him instead of Gingrich. Gingrich knows that and you should learn it before you formulate opinions on that time.

Hmmm, indictment or no, Rove will make million's on his memiors and will go on to live a much more influential life than anyone on this board. If you doubt that you are sadly mistaken. Bush will do the same as people have a short memory for any bad anyone does. People forget that Carter was one of the most unpopular presidents in history, couldn't even get reelected. Look at him today.

Educated people should look at the facts as they are instead of as they want them to be....

I'm hardly a Clinton fan, but to give the devil his due I have to admit that Clinton's an A-1 first rate politician.

It is important for you to educate yourself in the differences between fact and opinion. I stated my opinion, and you stated yours. To say that I am less educated than you because I don't agree with your opinions is illogical.

    You said this....

No you need to learn the difference between fact and opinion. You said the above in the form of a stated fact. You did not say it was an opinion. It isn't a fact and what I said is so I do not need to learn the difference between the two at all.

People come on this board all of the time and totally miss the point of how things are. You assumed Gingrich was upset with Clinton when in fact Clinton's presidency was the making of Newt. Your comment about Rove was another statement which utterly missed the facts. That man will earn millions in his lifetime and remain very influential. That is a fact, it may be a sad fact in some people's mind, but it is still a fact and is not an opinion. Don't get upset with me for pointing out the real facts.....

What I have heard very little about is the resultant outing of Brewster Jennings & Associates; a CIA cover company. It will be interesting to hear what the grand jury says about it. However if CIA has similar cover companies operating around the world it may not be that big an impact.

And who is the second rate politician from a third rate state?
