Anyone notice how proactive the Governor of Tx is being concerning the safety of his fellow Texans?

The concern has surely been there but spurring his mount is surely the fiasco of his counterpart to the east.

I agree, Decimon. I would hope that he would have done the same even if he hadn't learned the lesson from Katrina. My point is this though: he's not waiting to see if the Feds/ the President is going to do his job for him. He knows that he can get assistance if he needs it but that it's his job to take care of his state.

This hurricane is targeted on Galveston, the site of the deadliest hurricane in US history....

    Unprecedented

The government said today that the traffic jams in Texas were caused because hurricane Rita was "unprecedented."

Did they miss the lessons learned from hurricane Katrina?

    To "the government"....

    Vizzini (Wallace Shawn):
    "InconCEIVable!"

    Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin):
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
