Just goes to show something Carl needs to learn. In another thread he said Republican are bad and Democrats are good.

This is living in the Land of Oz.

The Land of Reality is that one will find both good and bad in both major political parties. This is a fact!

To anticipate a question or two, let me name five good Democrats: Senators Mary Landrieu, Joe Lieberman, Evan Bayh, and Diane Feinstein (liberal but intellectually honest); and Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth.

Let me name five bad Republicans: Former Attorney General John Ashcroft; Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue; Kentucky Governor Ernie Flethcher; Mississippi Senator Trent Lott; and Bush Consultant Karl Rove, who attended nearly half a dozen colleges without ever getting a degree.

Just out of curiosity, who are the five good Republicans and five bad Democrats? Preferably from the post-Civil War era.

    Cha... uh, nevermind

Sounds like my situation a year ago, so hopefully that's not why you dislike him. :) I'd say he should go to Charter Oak State College, but I'd rather my alma mater weren't sullied by such an association.

The point is there are many....

There are many corrupt, demagogues on both sides of the aisle. To say there isn't is pure naivite....

I just like to razz my Republican colleagues. Of course, I disapprove of certain aspects of some Democratic politicians, like the Teddy/MaryJo thing or the Bill/Monica fiasco.

Now come on, all Bill did was chase some sweet young thing. If I was married to Hillary (hint I wouldn't be) I probably would have too..:D

Actually, what always pee'd me off about the whole bimbo eruption thing was how they always immediately attacked the female part of the eruption. They were labelled gold diggers, trailer trash or whatever else and Bill just the poor innocent victim. The fact that Hillary stayed with him to ride the train to the White House makes her no better than the so called bimbo's. Give me a break, the man had and has no class and neither does his significant other...

Personally, I like the Democrats. But both Teddy Kennedy and Bill Clinton were guttersluts. Hillary's hot.

    Wow...

Hillary's Hot?!?! Have you ever seen that picture of her in the bathing suit? And she's got fat ankles for god's sake (cankles really). I wouldn't wish her on a liberal.........:D

Worse, she is a cold, calculating witch. But hey, I can respect ambition so I'll give her that.....

    Re: Wow...

I think she's pretty well-preserved for 58 years old. But that's just the opinion of a naive inexperienced little 43-year-old boy who thinks that older experienced women are hot.

Dude, I like older women too....

It is only coincidence that my current wife is a lot younger than me.

But Hillary isn't well preserved at all. Rene Russo yes, Hillary no.
Tina Turner is 66 and has far bteer legs and ankles......

Well, I can name dozens for each side.

    But you want five.

Five good Republicans would be President George W. Bush, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel, Maine Senators Susan Collins and Olympia Snow.

Five bad Democrats would be Massachusetts Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry, California Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Texas Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee, and DNC Chair Howard Dean.

Restraint really is a virtue, isn't it. If so, boy, oh, boy... am I ever virtuous today.
