Gen. Abizaid says that the insurgency is hanging in there about the same whereas Sec. Rumsfeld says that it is drying up.

There's a significant disconnect, here. The Administration would seem to be in denial as in fact it HAS been since before the invasion.

    Very True

Oh, how very true Nosborne. And according to "Tricky" Dick Chenney, "The Iraqi insurgency is in its last throes". How do these guys keep a straight face while saying things like this?

    Take care,

I was talking with someone -- another member of these forums, actually -- on the phone the other night, and I mentioned to him that I suspected that if the U.S. pushed Saddam from a van (that had stopped, for a moment, of course, so that he wouldn't be injured) onto the street in the middle of Baghdad tomorrow, the Iraqi citizenry would restore him to power -- almost as if nothing had happened -- within 24 to 72 short hours...

...and would then curse the U.S. (even more than it already is) for upsetting things in Iraq in the first place.

Am I right about that, does anyone think? Wrong? What.

    Good point!

    Hi Mr. DesElms:

You are probably not that far off the mark on your hypothetical. I have often thought the same thing myself.

    Take care sir!

    Abner :)
