    HIV/AIDS and the Islamic World

Interesting article that unfortunately doesn't even touch on the HIV situation in the Muslim world. While the West and much of the Third World have begun to address HIV/AIDS at some level, the Muslim world, not suprisingly, has acted as though HIV/AIDS doesn't exist.

I've never even seen estimates on the HIV infection rate published let alone any serious analysis of the looming public health crisis in these countries. While HIV/AIDS policy has become (over the last two decades) something over which both the Left and Right share a good deal of common ground, it is still a taboo topic in most predominately Muslim countries with the exception of Indonesia.
