Nice theory, but I doubt that capitalism in Africa would survive without their first getting rid of all their petty dictators and embracing democracy and the rule of law.
Well, it's one of those chicken and egg things. You need democracy, the rule of law, and respect for private property in order for capitalism to work. Hence the need to get rid of all the little petty dictators. But you need a people with some experience of freedom to stand up to the dictators. And freedoms are secured by having some economic standing.
