    Poor Excuse for a Parent

The 16 year-old boys did what 16 year-old boys' hormones tell them to do when seeing a naked (and presumably attractive) female dancing ... they watched and probably genuinely enjoyed the experience.

The stripper did what she does ... she took off her clothes and danced and was paid for it. (stripping for money is lawful activity in most jurisdictions provided the stripper is an adult)

The mother (and father) failed to do what parents are supposed to do- they not only didn't exercise any parental control, they facilitated this outrageously bad idea of a birthday suprise for their son. What type of values are these people passing along to their impressionable teenager? While I don't know for sure, I don't think that respect for women is among them.

I wonder what the "parents" have in mind for next year's "birthday celebration"?

Methinks the old geezers who write the laws on these sorts of things forget that they were a bunch of horny little, er, illegitimates when they were teenagers. I mean, darn, these fool legislators just don't want people to have any fun.

Bad parenting? Yes. Take pictures and send them to be developed? Stupid. But I think the mother in the article had a point of asking what business the government has in deciding what to show her son in their own home.

What if the stripper did it for free? Wouldn't it then be legal since no service was purchased?

To me this isn't as bad as mothers who buy their 12 - 16 year old daughters breast implants for their birthdays.

Also, this is not as bad as when mothers purchase abortions for their teenage daughters, thereby killing their very own grandchildren. Either way, buying a stripper for a 16 year old kid is simply indefensible.

I didn't read the article, but I did hear about this on the news. Will the stripper be arrested? In my opinion, s/he (ya never know!) should be charged along with the mother.

It does sound like contributing to the delinquency of a minor. That's a fourth degree felony here in New Mexico.

Of course, she ought to have gone all-out and bought her son a prostitute for his twelfth birthday!
