King of Shame-A letter to the King of Swaziland in Southern Africa.

    Long Live the King !!!

Sir, I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the position that your rule has put the state of Swaziland. Your majesty, our good country of Swaziland… the land of the free, the land of prosperity is bleeding and in chaos. Sir things have fallen apart. I am scared that you are either having an ear infection where you cannot hear the rumblings in the land, or you are so much surrounded by sycophants who have built a thick wall between you and the good people of Swaziland. Your majesty, the beauty and respect of your office can only be seen and appreciated when you still have people to rule in Swaziland. I am afraid very soon you would have no body to rule expect the litany of wives filling up your palace, your every increasing sycophant who constantly sing your praises and your expensive cars and all the attachment of Porsche and luxury that you have surrounded your self. King Mswati III , I have a lot of questions to ask you. Why do you keep marrying many wives ? Currently you have officially declared thirteen ( 13) wives and may be unofficially you have many more. What else can you offer Swaziland besides satisfying the canal and unnecessary urge of your flesh and thinking of marrying any young Swazi girl ? Sir , do you think your subjects are happy ? Do you ever ask their opinion ? Your country is lacking the necessary basic necessities of life ( food, water and clothing) and we are amassed and flabbergasted when you drive around the country in your state of the art fleet of expensive cars. Your majesty do you think it is right to have opposition in your kingdom ? Do you consider multi party system a genuine way to move Swaziland forward for the future ? Your Excellency, have you heard of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) before ? Do you know that AIDS is causing havoc in your country ? Your able bodied youths are dying from this disease. Sir, look at the statistics from AIDS related deaths . It has constantly been on the increase but it looks like you are not interested in looking at the statistics , but rather only interested in the statistics of your number of wives and expensive cars. Is it true you bought Maybach car the world most expensive car ? The United Nations just reported that the number of your citizens suffering from AIDS has more than doubled from 13,000.00 in 2001 to 17,000.00 in 2003, out of your national population of 970.00.00. What has the king done to stop this ? Your Excellency, the state of the education system in your country is unheard of. Your schools are lacking qualified teachers and are almost closing . Please stop this frenzy of marrying every young girl and get down to the genuine business of governance. I strongly have this burning desire to let you know of this. As Edmund Burke once noted, “ all that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing”. Long live the king !!!!

Kelechi, best wishes on your PhD studies.

    Why? Absolutely not, I'd say!

The man, barely out of his teen years, is inconsistent and has no descernible conscience, at least not one that pricks him to act morally or decently enough at all times so as to stop heaving much worldwide scorn on himself (and unfortunately and undeservedly, the Kingdom he is supposed to represent).

He has one redeeming quality - advocating for global action to prevent, treat and rehabilitate persons, families and nations afflicted with the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic (especially in Africa):

Although the King is respected and venerated in the country, on several other occasions, his wanton acts have made him appear to be a certified and regal despot (ne, idiot):

Btw, Sawziland is a beautiful country, with warm-hearted people who speak SiSwati or English (sometimes both) or Afrikaans.

They are blessed with a pleasant disposition, quite friendly and welcoming of visitors and guests, who they traditionally often refer to as "messengers from God" and thus to be treated with all courtesy and warmth.

Possible Replacement for King Mswati III

    Kelechi,

An unfortunate situation indeed. If the Swazi people ever force him out or if he does the decent thing and abdicates, I can think of a possible interim replacement (equally unqualified) until elections could be held. This candidate, I'm sure, would be interested as long as he was allowed to wear the ceremonial headdress that comes with the office.

Since Swaziland has a tradition of bestowing medals and ribbons, along with a university for him to "lead", the new leader would have little trouble making the transition.

In light of the link above, I am constrained to point out that not all African Lutherans kiss this royal posterior's posterior.
