Well, it looks like the Cons have kept the Senate and House. It also looks like the weasel Karl Rove has managed to keep GW in for another 4 years. Damn - oh well - I guess I had better hang low for another 4 years. Just think - if GW does in fact win, then HRC will be up in 2008. HRC verses CR. Now, that would be a good definitive race.

In good news, it looks like Dachle will lose his Senate seat. He is such a first class weenie. If the Dems want to actually win, they have to play dirty like the Pubs (worked for both Bush's and Clinton)

Well, it was S-O-O-O-O close. But at least this time the election wasn't simply stolen. Bush won fair and square with a few million popular votes. We can't even blame Nader this time.

President Bush will likely win Ohio in the next few hours (days?) and that will be that.

I remember 1972. Nixon won re election and was impeached a year later.

I also remember 1996 when President Clinton won re election and the Republicans were livid in their turn.

Okay, Republicans! You are still running the country. You have enough rope; let's see if you can keep from hanging yourselves.

Close? What are you talking about. Bush slam dunked him, and broke the all-time popular vote total, surpassing Ronald Regan! That's close???

Do you remember 1960 when Kennedy's daddy stole the election? Nixon had more grounds to challenge that election than Gore and Kerry combined. He however had too much class and respect for the presidency to put the country through that. Also, Nixon wasn't impeached. With all of his wrongdoing, again he had the class to get out before that spectacle occurred.

Clinton, who was impeached, has never been accused of having class.

This very topic was brought up in 2000. It was wrong then, and it is wrong now. Nixon did mount a challenge to the election through the courts. Nixon would never be confused for a man with class. He had none. He was very much a backstabber who would probably sell off his mother for a vote. Remember McCarthy? Nixon was his right hand man.

Nixon was going to be impeached, and most likely he would have been convicted and removed. Clinton's impeachment was purely a political ploy and he stood zero chance of actually being convicted.

Hey, I'm not the one who brought up the past.

How is obstruction of justice and perjury political? If nothing else, he broke his oath of office to uphold the dignity of the office.

You're right about him not being convicted, though. The dems in Congress voted purely along party lines rather than along legal and moral lines.
