He didn't clearly or passionately defend a very important issue: The economy!!! We should be very proud of the strides made inspite of a few key issues that favor that Bush is right about a few things. 1. Bush inherited a reccession 2. Bush inherited corporate scandels 3. 9/11 was a HUGE blow to our economy. 4. So has the war on terror been. 5. We are in a war. (argue about this one) Yet, the unemployment rate is as good as what got Clinton re-elected. The economy is getting stronger and there are many positives concerning the economy. Now, Bush wins with me based strictly on the cultural issues even without the economy. I think if he would have spend more time getting the truth out about these issues rather than harping the war on terror we wouldn't be so glued to the TV right now. He wins on the terror issue. I don't understand why you spend all of your time on the issues that you wins instead of trying to strengthen your perceived weaknessess.
I agree, he could have ran a better campaign. There are many positives about his first term that didn't get addressed enough. He also didn't defend himself sufficiently against some of the outragious charges from the left. I remember thinking the same thing about his dad in '92. It was like he wasn't trying to win.
Sometimes when you are right about something and someone falsely acusses you, you feel like there is no reason to defend yourself. Bad thinking.
Here's a few more "one word" answers.... 1. Arrogance 2. Unintelligent 3. Pampered 4. Unprepared 5. Misguided Need I go on? Any one of those words can be used as the "one thing that keeps Bush from being re-elected".
