I am prepared right now to state the Democrats will cry foul if President Bush is reelected!

I am prepared right now to state if Senator Kerry is elected I will not cry foul but accept the results.

How about it Kerry supporters, willing to join me in a "non-sour-grapes" pledge?

I don't check into the political discussions much, but surely your church isn't keeping you busy enough.

Do you know you've started 30 P.D. threads? Can one person really have that much to say?

The animosity toward people who think differently than you is amazing.

There. I've said it. Now back to ignoring political discussions.

    What animosity? TC Nixon's?

Don't be a wise ass, Nixon. Jimmy's thread is in no way offensive. Go back to plugging your book and ignoring the political discussions.

    fretful post (nonpartisan, for once)

I am afraid both sides will contest results in all sorts of places, and on the most flimsy of grounds, making 2000 look like nothing. Hope I'm wrong. I really do. I have no prediction on who will "win". But I have never (since 1964) heard people on both sides expressing as much fear for the country if it's the "other guy," and that year was an obvious landslide for Johnson way in advance. I've already voted absentee and my choice was fairly clear for me. Polls had nothing to do with it. So please vote, whether it's Bush, Kerry, Nader, Badnarik, or whoever, and spare a thought for the republic.

    Jimmy,

First, good evening. Second, how have the early election results coming? In Harris County( Houston Metro), they have had over 400,000 vote. This smashes a record held for awhile( KTRK News ABC affiliate, my source). Has it been busy? I had to wait for 30 minutes at my polling place on Tuesday afternoon, my wife had to wait for 40 minutes today. Third, I enjoy a close race. As a historian, we love to analyze things until they are dead. 1877, 2000 or 1912...the juicier the better. Will I as a Democrat salute George Bush if he is the victor? Yes, I will. I did in 2000 when he won. I did wonder and still do why Al Gore didnt try again in 2004. I mean he could have said you got me in 2000, but boy in 2004 it will be go time. Well, I guess that is the historian speaking.

This could be the beginning of the second American Civil War: Liberal leftists versus Neo-Con right wingers.

But I am not worried. The conservatives will win if there ever was a civil war. The neo-cons have all the men and the guns. The leftists have nothing but their big mouths and flaming homos.

The cons will cry anyway. The cried and bitched for 8 years after Clinton legitimtely won two elections against the best that they could put forward.

No matter what happens tomorrow, GW will still be a chimp. A marginal little man with even smaller ideas about our big world.

Wow, that comes across as very bitter. Especially, considering you expect to win tomorrow. I hate to think your reaction if you lose.

What did they bitch about? No one claimed Clinton stole the election. No one claimed he didn't have a mandate, even though he never received 50% of the popular vote.

They complained when he turned the White House into a brothel, but I don't recall anyone complaining about either election.

And why is it that, like your candidate, you have to demean and belittle other people in order to make yourself feel more like a man?

What a flaming idiotic post. I'm guessing you're also an embarrassment to the conservatives in this forum. I could almost hear the collective cringe from your post. Wise up. Grow up.

  18. I agree with Tom. You are a complete and total idiot (not just your post, but YOU personally).

By the way, this is one liberal who has guns, knows how to use them, and has studied the art of war and the topic of military history for the better part of my 50+ years on this earth.

Which is why I'm so against the Bush regime. This gang of mavericks doesn't understand the first thing about conducting a successful war - such as having overwhelming strength on the ground, not losing focus of the objectives, and understanding that destruction of the enemy's ARMY and not occupation of his CAPITALS is the only sure way to victory. And without victory, there is no peace, nor any possibility of it being restored for now (unless we elect John Kerry, who DOES understand these basic principles, as well as possessing a considerable amount of wisdom/discretion in how he would commit our troops to any future engagements).

  19. Will the GOP cry foul?

Many experts predict that Bush will win the popular vote but Kerry will win the electoral college vote. A news commentator stated, "Wouldn't that be delicious irony?" Indeed it would.

The GOP has consistently tried to destroy democracy over the past 4 years. An example here in the OC--my 19-year-old son registered to vote some time ago yet his name did not appear on the registar's list. Close friends of his are encountering similar situations. The GOP is trying to intimidate young voters, going to court, even, as in Ohio, to discourage voters who will probably vote for Kerry.

Every American should be concerned that other Americans are being denied their RIGHT to vote. Our nation is moving more towards totalitarianism each day President Cheney is in office.

Why am I not surprised someone named "Nixon" is complaining about freedom of speech!
