Hard to understand why God would tell Robertson it was going to be a mess while telling W. to go ahead. That darn God.
Hey, is it possible they are both full of it?

Why do you suppose Pat Robertson is now putting distance between himself from the President?

I suspect that I am wildly simplistic about this but I thought President Bush was the darling of the Religious Right?

Bush is not the "darling of the religious right". He is simply the best they have got now. Bush is more to the left on the gay rights issue than most of the so called religious right. On the other hand he is closer on abortion.

He is not even the darling of the plain right. Some of them were upset over things like his historicaly high funding levels for agencies like the Dept of Education. He has increased government speinding in this area. Again, he is simply what they have right now.

So, yes you were wildly simplistic. But we all have a tendency to lump folks together. For instance, Bill O'Reilly is generally on the right but on issues like gay adoption he is quite to the left. In fact I remember him ridiculing a Christian on his show for his anti gay beliefs.

This is the same Pat Robertson that told the world he was told by God that Bush would be reelected.

This is the same Pat Robertson that stood in the midst of a savage hurricane and commanded it to retreat.

This is the same Pat Robertson that, in his 1988 run for the GOP presidential nomination, made absurd statements regarding the issues of that time.

This is the same Pat Robertson that looked meglomanical at some of his 1988 rallies.

    Enough said.

North is absolutely correct. I have said all along that Bush is a moderate. This is why he is so hated by the Democrats. He has accomplished much on issues sacred to the Dems that they have never been able to accomplish.

    Like what?

  8. I liked this quote from the article:

"You remember Mark Twain said, 'He looks like a contented Christian with four aces.' I mean he was just sitting there like, 'I'm on top of the world,' " Robertson said on CNN's "Paula Zahn Now."

Yeah, well that's how spoiled frat guys pretty much always look, isn't it????

    LOL
