Hello! Am asking this for a friend who has an RA master's in (general) administration and two NA graduate certificates (one in human resources management and the other in healthcare management). He has significant management experience in a variety of fields and would like to apply for an online adjunct teaching position at an RA community college or a private 4-year university. Would listing all graduate programs on his resume make him more appealing (i.e., able to teach more courses) to hiring departments (I suppose undergraduate departments in business or management), or given the current bias against NA programs, would the NA programs "taint" his qualifications and he'd be better off just mentioning his RA master's degree? How would you look at his credentials if you were the hiring chair? Thanks!
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ He should mention all of his credentials. Why not? He is applying for a public entity position. Government positions (employers) like to see lots of certs, etc. He should not sell himself short. Abner P.S. I see that you mentioned public or private. I would proceed the same either way.
I do not agree. I teach at an NA school and they did not want to see non-RA degrees listed in my posts to the class during intros. ** Note: I am not a hiring manager for adjuncts...for now....
I would definitely agree in not putting NA degrees on an RA teaching application. However, the OP mentioned certificates. In that case, I would be more inclined to list them, even if they are from an NA school. It is quite common to have certificates that are not RA, including non-credit certs. Just keep them separate from your degree. I have a "Certifications" section on my resume for those things (mostly tech certs).
My university only allows RA degrees to be listed. What kinds of NA "certifications" would you like to list with your RA employer?
True, I list mine as: EDUCATION: Doctor of Philosophy - Northcentral University (ACBSP), 2010 Major: Business Administration – Management Master of Business Administration - Trident University, 2011 Concentration: Marketing Master of Science - Touro College (Touro University International Campus), 2004 Concentration: Information Technology Management Graduate Certificate - University of Florida, 2007 Concentration: Healthcare Risk Management Bachelor of Science - Charter Oak State College, 2003 Concentration: Individualized Studies (Technology & Business) Continuing Education HTML Programming Fundamentals - University of South Florida Six Sigma Lean - University of South Florida Root Cause Analysis - University of Florida CERTIFICATIONS: Microsoft Certified Professional+Internet, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator-Windows 2000, Microsoft Certified System Engineer NT 4.0, Network+, A+, Server+, Security+, Project+, i-Net+, Lean Bronze Certificate (LBC), and Six Sigma Green Belt
You forgot to add that you can deadlift 543 lbs, married a woman whose agent told her she too pretty to be a model and that you have reached the killscreen in both Pac Man and Donkey Kong.
I don't always read posts, but when I do, I make sure they belong to Randell1234. Keep on reading my friends...
Flattered I hope, your educational background is an inspiration, I mean it. Sorry if I offended you, I can assure you it was not my intention.
