    Hi all,

I want to pursue my PhD mostly online, but not from a for-profit school. I would like to attend a traditional brick-and-mortar school with a good reputation, but I can't relocate. So I am looking for a hybrid program (i.e. you spend a few weeks on campus in the summer and do the coursework online in the fall and spring). Does anyone know of any programs like this, particularly in psychology or education?

    Thanks!

Traditional, not-for profit, short residency, good reputation....Nova Southeastern. There are many more these days. Could you be more specific about what you want to study?

For psychology, two of my favorites are Fielding and Saybrook.

That was the first school I thought of too. I know MANY people with education doctorates from Nova, including 2 uncles. Nova has been running their limited residency cohort doctoral programs for DECADES.

In addition to my uncles, several of the faculty at the state university that I worked at had doctorates from Nova.

New Mexico State University has a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction that requires two weeks in the summer for three summers in a row. Northeastern University in Boston has an EdD program with a varliety of concentrations that requires two weeks total on campus, most people do one week in the summer for two summers in a row.
