    Hybrid PhD programs

    Hi all,

I want to pursue my PhD mostly online, but not from a for-profit school. I would like to attend a traditional brick-and-mortar school with a good reputation, but I can't relocate. So I am looking for a hybrid program (i.e. you spend a few weeks on campus in the summer and do the coursework online in the fall and spring). Does anyone know of any programs like this, particularly in psychology or education ?

    Thanks!

Traditional, not-for profit, short residency, good reputation....Nova Southeastern . There are many more these days. Could you be more specific about what you want to study?

That was the first school I thought of too. I know MANY people with education doctorates from Nova, including 2 uncles. Nova has been running their limited residency cohort doctoral programs for DECADES.

In addition to my uncles, several of the faculty at the state university that I worked at had doctorates from Nova.

Fuller Theological Seminary (APA accredited) offers both the Psy.D. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology . Additionally, students completing 88-units are too awarded the M.A. in Psychology in each program track AND earn a M.A. in Christian Leadership after completing the 76 required theology units.
