Has anyone used this service? Americans Governing I'm just amazed at how expensive textbooks are for the students at the community college where I was just hired. The bookstore jacks up the price tremendously. I'm looking into a more user-friendly option for the students that is also cost effective. I've come across this site (Thanks to some links from the companies music videos that they've produced) and it looked interesting. I'd appreciate any comments you all might have regarding this specific publisher, or the use of ebooks or webtexts in general. What are student attitudes regarding such textbooks? Thanks! -Matt
Another free textbook option for you is American Government and Politics in the Information Age by Paletz, Owen and Cook. It's from Flat World Knowledge, which has a version of each of their books available freely online.

Saylor also has an open textbook challenge with interesting info here: The Open Textbook Challenge « The Saylor Foundation
Thanks, Steve! I ordered a review copy. It's DEFINITELY cheaper than what we're using, and if it's of good quality, I'll consider it. I like the fact that they also have supplementary materials that go with the books. -Matt

 Big brother is watching! Okay, not really. I just think it's humorous that today I received an email to my college email account (which isn't on this board anywhere) from a representative from Soomo Publishing. She said that someone had seen my post here and passed my name along to her, so she was writing me to share more information. I don't mind at all, because she ended up sharing quite a bit... Just be warned... the publishing houses are watching! -Matt
