This is not a slam at all against DeVry , but I tend to get a little more skeptical about a school when there is such a large number of their own graduates teaching there.
Also, what does DETC have to do with anything? Just because someone claims a DETC credential does not mean that it was in any way a factor in getting hired. The degree could have been obtained from a DETC school after the date of hire for a potential pay raise? It would be foolish for anyone to look at such a list and conclude that DETC credentials are going to open the same doors.
With that many faculty, chances are there are even some with unaccredited degrees. | | | | | DeVry University | DeVry University

Teachers play an important role in fostering the intellectual and social development of children during their formative years. The education that students acquire is key to determining the future of those students. Whether in elementary or high schools or in private or public schools, teachers provide the tools and the environment for their students to develop into responsible adults.
Teachers act as facilitators or coaches, using classroom presentations or individual instruction to help students learn and apply concepts in subjects such as science, mathematics, and English. They plan, evaluate, and assign lessons; prepare, administer, and grade tests; listen to oral presentations; and maintain classroom discipline. Teachers observe and evaluate a student's performance and potential. They are increasingly asked to use new assessment methods
•Public school teachers must be licensed, which typically requires a bachelor's degree and the completion of an approved teacher education program; private school teachers do not have to be licensed but may still need a bachelor's degree.
•Job prospects are best for teachers in high-demand fields, such as mathematics, science, and bilingual education, and in less desirable urban or rural school districts.
•Teachers must have the ability to communicate, inspire trust and confidence, and motivate students, as well as understand students' educational and emotional needs. | | | | | | <2> - RLTW

It seems like many online schools are especially sensitive about hiring their own graduates.
I remember one formerly unaccredited school in Louisiana (if someone says the name, I'll know it) that eventually attained DETC accreditation, where the faculty listing looked like the alumni newsletter, since practically every faculty member had their highest degree from that school.
Are there any guidelines from the legitimate accrediting agencies as far as having "home grown" faculty? Similar Threads -
