This is seemingly an alternate direction, but does anyone know of any positions requiring only a bachelor's degree for online teaching? We were aware, at one time, of some online high schools that provided positions for distance instructors. Anyone know of any of these, or any technical schools that might offer instructional positions to those with only an undergrad degree?

PS - He's going back to complete his master's at some point, he is just looking for something in the mean time to help him bridge the gap. Also, his degree is English (and he has a minor in History).

    Thanks!

Vocational/trade programs hire instructors in disciplines that don't offer Masters' degrees (e.g. auto repair, culinary, business computer skills etc.). These postions are in trade schools or community colleges. But most of these are not online, with the exception of computer skills classes, which normally consist of excel, word, and other vocational computer skills.

Online highs schools are a different matter entirely and to my understanding a teacher would have to be state certified or have the ability to become state certified. In most instances, states do not require masters degrees but do require some teacher certification. This is state-specific.

Where I live high school teachers are not required to have a Masters degree in order to be hired but must be enrolled in a Masters degree program within five years of being hired in order to remain in their position. I am not entirely certain of this but I believe that this is not a state law but varies from town to town.

Developmental courses (developmental writing, reading, and math, for example), at least in Texas, only require a Bachelors. Not many of those online, though.
