I have a phone interview with Axia next week and I'm wondering what to expect. I can find lots of threads about UoP and I'm wondering if they are essentially the same in their hiring process and working conditions. I don't want to get into the usual "the pay is lousy" debate (I know what they pay), I'm just wondering if anyone here works for Axia and can provide some insight. What questions do they ask in the phone interview? How rigorous is the training? What are the students like? Do you have to have specific office hours? Anything you wish you had known before starting???

I don't by any means have a job offer yet, but I want to understand what I *may* be getting myself into, so I can make an educated decision as to whether I want to pursue this further. Thanks!

    How did it go?

    Hey Streetsmart,

I am just a little behind you in this process (phone interview coming up soon) and just wanted to ask how yours went. What kind of questions did they ask, what were some things you wish you had done differently, etc? Hope you had a good experience on yours...

  3. Just one thing to remember with their on-line environment... You are never right and the students who complain about you are always right. On Ground for UoP is a better environment. Been UoP on ground 11 years.

Sounds more like a customer/Customer Rep than teacher/student relationship?!

FYI: This has not been my experience AT ALL. I have had a student complain (unjustifiably) and I was supported. UOP/Axia has been a very positive experience for me; in some ways better than my other online gigs.
