I will be completing my MS in Mechanical Engineering at the end of this year. I was wondeirng what courses I will be considered eligible to teach with this degree? I am only able to teach online/distance learning classes and most interested in math or physics classes.
It really depends upon what courses you have taken. To be qualified in most instances (there are exceptions), you need a Masters degree (you have that, or will) and then 18 graduate semester hours in the subject to be taught. So if you have 18 hours of Math, then you can teach Math. That does just mean that you are qualified, not that you will actually get a job. I don't know about math and science fields right now, but humanities online jobs are pretty hard to come by. Lots of folks vying for not too many positions. Just having the MS won't put you at the top of the food chain, as it were. You might consider trying to get an adjunct gig at a local school (if that is possible. I know you said you could only do online). Once you start getting experience, things tend to open up a bit.

Not so many mechanical engineering classes online. I know that many mechanical engineers teach operations online. This would depend on the orientation of your degree but if you have some industrial engineering background then operations and supply chain might be a good fit.
