I would like to get feedback from members regarding your opinion on online schools. I have 18 years experience working in insurance claims and working on my CPCU designation. I don't know if I want to spend the additional time and expense on obtaining an MBA from an AACBS degree from B&M school. I would like to get an MBA and teach courses insurance, risk management and finance classes.

I'm doing the enrollment with Chancellor University, but I keep coming back to American Public University. I don't know why, but everything I have spoken with there is very easy to work with and they have a good selection of classes. I have reservations about being an online only school. I'm also looking at Grand Canyon University and Bellevue University.

I would like your thoughts on how an APU was would viewed from schools. I'm hoping they will look at my resume and professional designations more on the degree.

With an APU degree and your experience you should be able to teach community college or non-college classes in insurance. My wife used to take non-colleges courses (some online) each year to maintain her CA insurance broker license.

One 4-year school you might investigate for teaching opportunities is Excelsior College; they offer a BS in insurance.

Besides Chancellor, I'm really stuck between APU and Bellevue. Only thing about Bellevue is that it will take 3 years to complete by taking one class per semester verse 2 years for APU. I don't know if Bellevue is worth 5k more The one drawback to APU is that Excelsior is not ACBSP accredited, so I would have to take three foundation courses and Bellevue it would be one.

Based on the evaluation with APU I can take the following:
    1. BUSN601 - Global Management Perspective
    2. BUSN602 - Managerial Analysis
    3. BUSN603 - Quantitative Analysis

    4. BUSN620 - Strategic Management
    5. BUSN623 - Legal and Ethical Issues in Management
    6. BUSN625 - Applied Decision Making
    7. ECON600 - Managerial Economics
    8. FINC600 - Corporate Finance
    9. MKTG600 - Marketing Management

    10. FINC615 - Investment Management
    11. FINC610 - Financial Institutions
    12. FINC620 - International Finance

    Bellevue University is the following:
    1. MBA 522 Data analysis
    2. MBA 623 Business Modeling and Planning (elective)

    3. MBA 652 marketing strategy
    4. MBA 633 adv. org. behavior
    5. MBA 642 managerial acct & info systems
    6. MBA 626 operations management
    7. MBA 612 financial strategy
    8. MBA 639 strategic management

    9. BA 602 Risk management
