    Hi All,

Ive been given my first two online adjunct opportunities, but i am looking for an application that will help me track how much time i spend on each class and when assignments are due.

this is important to me for two primary reasons:
    - i plan to continue to assume additional adjunct opportuntiies and want to maximize the return on my time. the best way fior me to do that is to really track how many total hours i spend on a class vs. the salary.

    - as i accept additional classes i dont want any deadlines to slip past, and having a single application that i can use to track critical dates and deadlines will be a tremendous help.

for the time issue, im thinking of asomething like n application attornies may use to track billable hours.

for the due-date tracking any workable stand-alone application would do (i dont like outlook for this).

any advise or suggestions would be tremendously appreciated.

    thanks in advance,
    Mike

You can set your Outlook to track when assignments are due, about the time I don't know of any application, but I am pretty sure they should be available, and if you don't have Outlook, Mozilla may help with that for free.

    Hi Mike;
This probably isn't the automated way you are looking for, but this is what I do.

    1. I have a 1-page Excel checklist for all of the colleges that I print out weekly. So it says for College #1.
*Daily - Check email, Check homework forum, Make 3 posts
*Mondays - Double check that materials for next week are set. Post announcement.
*Tuesdays - Grade homework/projects from previous week
    *Misc. notes and To-Do's.

When I get to the bottom of each college on the sheet for the day, I write down the time. It also helps spread out the work, since you can see the time by day of the week, and shift as needed.

Since each school has a different start/end of the week, I find it extremely helpful. Bottom of the sheet = done.

I also use MS Excel. I have a spreadsheet that compares today's date with what is due during the semester. I basically input the course start date and allow Excel to populate the dates for each consecutive week. It also alerts me to when I need to set up the next course and the dates for when quizzes and exams are to be released and are due.

Outlook is the best to use that since it's easily accessible on your computer and you don't need internet connection to access it.

I do something similar, but I just keep it electronically rather than print it out.
