New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, concerned about delays associated with security measures on the anniversary of 9/11 has asked VP Cheney not to come to NYC! Who is this guy? Let's hope he pulls a John Lindsay and switches parties!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He already switched parties. He was a Democrat until just before being elected mayor of NYC.

Yes, I know. He only switched to run for Mayor. He is an opportunist. I meant I hope he switches back. I don't think he will get reelected. Of course, considering Mark Green was the opponent, Bloomberg was a "hold-your- nose-and-vote-for- bloomberg" candidate.

He is the mayor of NYC looking out for his constituents. Do you have any idea of the real monetary costs that would be associated with a Cheney visit to NYC on the anniversay of September 11 would be? I don't, but I am sure that it would be in the 10's of millions. (If you doubt that, I suspect you don't understand the implications of gridlock in Manhatten.)

And what is the point of Cheney going there? It's a campaign event. Pure and simple.

    You're right, I don't.

Quite possibly. Unfortunately very few politicos are true servants of the people. Term limits may stop this, but I doubt it.
