Has Henrik's account been disabled?

    To degreeinfo administrators:

Has Henrik's account been disabled? I am not playing the role of an advocate here. After all Henrik (owner of Knightsbridge) is one of the bad guys in the realm of DE. I never liked any of his posts. They were nauseating to say the least. He no longer posts here, it seems. It appears that his account has been disabled. If that is the case, I think that we should be informed about it so that one should not assume incorrectly that he decided not to post here again. I think that degreeinfo administrators ought to divulge information about disabled accounts. Up till now, I have assumed that some controversial posters (like Henrik) just stopped posting.

Henrik's account has not been disabled, but he hasn't visited here since late July.

Henrik just sent me an Email that he has read Bruce's post and wishes it to be known that his account has been disabled; he is unable to post messages.

If Henrik's account has been disabled I find that to be a shame. Did Henrik violate the TOS?

Some here religiously antagonize, and instigate with nothing ever said to them. I do not care anything about Henrik's school, but he seemed to be an intelligent, and well-mannered poster.

I remember Henrik had enormous problems just getting to the first post. Is it possible his problems are related to this and not to having a disabled account?

I have feelings similar to Ike but have always assumed that a decision was made that divulging this type of information would only increase any possible personal animosities. For example, say John Doe were banned and I had a particular dislike for Mr. Doe, if it were announced then I might decide to poke fun at Mr. Doe because he was banned. Poor Mr. Doe would then be in a position of having to read things about himself and wouldn't be able to repond. While I might feel it would be nice know that John Doe was banned, it might be best for the whole community to just keep quite about it.

Bill Gossett, who runs the controls that can pull the plug on people here, says that Henrik definitely has not been banned, but there must be some other technological problem, and has asked Henrik to communicate with him directly. I've provided the relevant Emails to each party.

In a related matter, John Walsh of Brannagh, of Greenwich University, says that neither he nor anyone else on Norfolk Island, can post. This situation has been going on for at least a year.

Yea, and my PM's can't be fixed. Seems its the click you are in as to whether you have any problems here huh?

Bullsh*t. I am not in any clique (not "click"). It takes me several tries to get through to this site, requiring me to disconnect from my ISP and redial. I do not know whether it's this site, my ISP, or my computer that causes the problem. I do know it's not some conspiracy by "a cabal of evil men", in the immortal phrase of Mayor Jane Byrne.

    From a preacher?

  11. I have yet to have a problem posting, and I'm most likely not an insider, if such a clique does exist. I certainly appreciate that.

I double-checked the control panel, and Henrik's account has not been disabled.

If he's having a problem posting, it must be a software glitch. I'll mention it to the appropriate person, as I'm certainly not the "techie" of the bunch.

    Life in the old goat

    Thanks to Bill 'Whiz' Gossett!

And John for his kind intervention on my behalf.

And to those asking and commenting, even if my return may cause nausea (thanks to Ike for the inspiration), thank you.

This should clear me for the Academy Awards ceremony, in terms of practice.

    The same problem

I had the same problem, and I could not post for about a year. I had changed internet providers and lost my password. When I tried from within the degreeinfo site to contact an administrator the system said I was not authorized to execute that action. In other words, it would help if there was a way to get a message into the system from outside of the system. So I tried to join (register) again from my new e-mail address which is a yahoo.com address. (Free). The system did not want me. Finally Russell contacted me about another issue and I asked him to contact an administrator. He did, and Bruce responded with a new password within 24 hours. I very much appreciate Bruce's quick action, but if Russell had not contacted me on other matters I had no idea how to alert the administrators as to my problem. I got through once via another member, but that was doing the attacks and everyone was absorbed with that. I think because of the spamming potential the system is disinclined toward free e-mail provider servers--but I am not certain; I do see the potential for abuse with free e-mail addresses.

    Blessings
