    Hello,

I'd appreciate any suggestions for getting into distance learning as a profession, including but not limited to teaching DL courses, developing programs, and administration of DL activities at traditional institutions.

Where's the best place to begin? Get a masters degree in online teaching? Get a DL masters degree in a subject -English, business, anthropology, geography- and a certificate in distance learning? Get a residential masters degree but do an internship in the school's external studies department? Get a generalist EdD and focus your dissertation on some aspect of distance learning? Nevermind all the degrees and just get in with the right people?

Where would you begin or where did you begin?

    Thanks!
    -John
