Western State University College of Law (owned by the parent company of Argosy University) which has been provisionally approved by the ABA for five years has been denied full approval. The ABA is seeking to revoke the provisional approval.

This is the first time I’ve seen this type of action. Normally accrediting bodies don’t grant provisional or candidate status unless full accreditation at a later date is virtually assured.

Reading between the lines, it doesn’t appear the ABA liked the budget cuts. I believe WSU would have been the first for-profit law school accredited by the ABA.

On a similar note, the UDC law school didn't achieve full accreditation back at the ABA meeting in June. Although the administration expected full approval, UDC was only granted a two-year extension of its provisional accreditation.

I don't have any further details other than the fact that the first-time bar exam pass rate for UDC grads is fairly low.
