Hello all, Friend of mine is starting research on the topic of shyness. I already clued her in to Proquest for dissertations at http://wwwlib.umi.com/dissertations/ Does anyone know of good sources for studies in the field of sociology? Thanks - Phillip M. Perry
This isn't quite an answer to your question, but she might be interested in joining the Society for Personality and Social Psychology; they put out a really spiffy journal, and (as I recall) make individual articles/back issues available to members. I'm sure I've seen some research there on shyness. A web page on the sociology of shyness (maintained by a Ph.D. student at Cardiff) can be found here: http://www.cf.ac.uk/socsi/shyness/ Good luck! Cheers,
Thanks Tom - I've passed along your information. For anyone else who is interested, the same company that offers dissertations also has a database service for individual researchers in many fields. It's called XanEdu. There is a free trial offer at: http://www.xanedu.com/pqfreetrial.shtml
