    Dr. Gina:

I noticed in your listing of degrees, before they were removed, that you are in the process of earning a doctorate (DSW, I think?). Since you use the title "Dr." in your posting name, do you currently have a doctorate? Just curious!

I think she told us this awhile back. If I remember correctly, she is working on the doctoral degree, but the "Dr." in her name is a nickname that she received from her friends.

Yes, I am in the process of recieving my DSW from Adelphi University (Brick and Motar School As everyone will say). I changed my signature only because I liked the quotes that were sent to me VIA e-mai from a friend, and just for a change of pace.

Dr. Gina is a nickname that I have been given at work, because I am constantly confused for a physican by patients (and staff and many other physicans) at the hospital that I work at. Plus, many of my co-workers know that I am working towards my doctorate, hence my nickname. It is only a matter of time that I will really be called a "Dr. Gina":D :D :D

Thank you! Some on the board are pursuing a second doctorate, or have contemplated it. Didn't know if you were in that group of doctorate junkies. ;)

    doctorate junkies?

Do you find that you can't start the day without earning another diploma?
Do you have dissertation materials hidden all over your house?
Have you ever been arrested for DRWD? (Doing Research While Driving)
    Do you write alone?
Are you writing more than a social writer should do?
    Are you obsessed with statistics?
Are publication deadlines interfering with your family relationships?
Do you talk incessently about arcane and useless knowlege?
Is your need for academic recognition interfering with your DRINKING?

If you answer "yes" to three or more of the preceding questions, YOU may be a doctorate junkie.

But don't dispair; you CAN be helped. Call your local chapter of Credentials Anonymous to find a meeting near you! Do it TODAY.

I do not have the time nor the money nor the required extra grey matter to persue more that one doctorate at a time.:) However, this message board has inspired me to explore completing my second bachelors online (I had taken more that the number of required credits in my minor in school, therefore only requiring me to complete a few credits to earn a second one) and to assist my son in earning credits for college, whiich he will need in a few years. It also has enspires my husband to explore getting his BA online, which he would not normally be interested in if he was required to attend classes.

Besides, I didn't know there were doctorate junkies! :D
