I believe the panel was a bit pessimistic in their assessment of DL acceptance. I'm sure there is some rejection of distance learning, but I believe that as it's becoming more common, more people will accept this method of learning. DL isn't really being denied as a group, I believe, but more so in individual cases. DL or not it's still up to the individual to sell themself in interviews. When you present your degree to other schools or in job applications you represent yourself first and the school second. Properly attired and well prepared will move the DL learning forward in most instances. Nothing gets 100% accepted, but DL is doing well and getting better.
