I'm assuming that Rich has been awarded his Ph.D. from UIU? If so, I'd like to add my heartfelt congratulations.

Rich has visited here on a regular basis all along (we moderators see everything), but for some reason(s) has chosen to not post. Hopefully, he'll change his mind soon.

One of the theories about Dr. Douglas not making his 3000th post was that he might have been waiting to receive his PhD. Now that he has, I too would like to see him return to make his 3000th post (and many more, for that matter.)

    Congratulations, Rich!

Heart felt congratulations Rich. You worked long...long on this process and I am sure you are happy to have it reach a successful conclusion. So you do not get the post PhD blues you need to hurry and enrol in another program :D

    Best wishes Dr. Douglas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Rich, you got your ears, I mean doctorate.

I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

I've followed you for the last fews and have seen you take a lot and give a lot back.

You have set a lot of people on the right course and although I sometimes didn't agree (because you were wrong) you always had a good point.

Now you can kiss and make up with Levicoff (no tongue) because he and you are now brother alumni. I am sure he thinks that Union was way tougher when he graduated.

Once you sober up, get your sad, sorry bad back to degreeinfo and post #3000.

    Make that sad sorry butt.

And they give guys who write like that degrees and let them into R/A grad programs. Pathetic.

Oddly enough, I may have been the first to congratulate Dr Douglas in another thread. Not wishing to neglect the social niceties, I repeat the congratulations here, even though Dr Douglas, like Frederick Barbarossa and the Twelfth Imam, remains in occultation.

Maybe it was the cinnamon in that Cincinnati chili...

It warms the cockles of my heart to report that Rich is back this very day. It warms them even more to think that before this day, I didn't even know that my heart had cockles.

    I am, indeed, back. Thanks.

Thanks. My committee approved my graduation on March 29th, but it took the school until just a few days ago to approve it. (They need some serious managerial assistance, IMHO.)

To all who've offered their congratulations, thanks so much. I really appreciate it. I just needed a break for awhile. (Not that I've been busy; it took the school from March 29th until now to approve my graduation--almost all of that spent idly waiting.)

I've been approved to graduate with the Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Higher Education and a Specialization in Nontraditional Higher Education. Quite possibly the only doctorate based upon this field.

Anyway, no biggie. But thanks, all!

Jinne, man, are they gonna put all that on your diploma?
Glad the weird chili didn't get you.

I think the diploma just reads "Doctor of Philosophy." The transcript contains all the rest of the stuff.

I lived in Texas where I learned to avoid "weird chili."

"Honey, stop the car. You hit an armadillo. Let's stop at the store on the way home for some chili powder...." Ugh.
