    Another interesting offering from alllearn.org.

    "Forum Description
Consider it poetic justice: Harold Bloom, a literary critic of towering importance, has recently turned his energies toward the most towering poet to have ever written in the English language—the Bard himself, Shakespeare. In his 1998 best-seller, Shakespeare: The Invention of the Human, Bloom provocatively argued that Shakespeare "invented us"—that his characters embody human personality in its most vital form, and that it is through these characters, if not because of them, that we understand today what it means to be human."

    Re: Charles

Lest anyone from my old school notice, it was English 200 English Literature, not English 210 Dick and Jane Survey course. Anyone here care?

Not only did Shakespeare write great stories he did great things for Italian tourism. In spite of never visiting Verona the Italian's at Verona have built an incredibly succesful tourist attraction centre out of Romeo and Julietta. And when coupled with the Arena, and the world's best opera, the Italian's probably make more per year out of Verona than the Romanian degree-mills do on the world scene!:)
