Just curious if anyone has come across the problem of the DBA degree being confused with Data Base Administrator certification or your name being thought of as an alias e.g. Doing Business As? In the computer & technology business, it can be an occasional problem. Wondering how some others solved it. Thanks.

I have no way of solving your problem, or really any idea, but it appears another minor thing may soon be smoothed over. It appears very likely that CCU will soon be accredited, and then you can say my MA comes from an accredited school. Boy, some people get all the breaks. On the DBA, tell them it stands for "Don't Be an A-- " :)

Thanks James, it's just a little confusing when an acromym gets overlapped in the same industry.

My MA is regionally accredited. As a CCU alum, I am pleased they are finally taking the leap to gain national accreditation. And I believe professional doctorates will be permitted under DETC in the next few years should the distance ed. trend continue. Given all the other career and family stuff, it took me 15 years (with a 5 year hiatus) and a reinstatement to finish my CCU program. MBA to PhD (ABD) to DBA. So, if they're successful, I'm not going to argue if gatekeepers simply look at the school's current status, although I see nothing wrong with CCU's state approval.

Neither do I, they have been one of the best of the approved schools for years, but you know how it goes here. A little help from the DETC would still be a calming of the waters. Just don't forget the rest of us down trodden degenerates when CCU gets DETC "APPROVED" :) :)
