Anyone know anything about this. Yeah, I know what it looks like. Some of you seem to have skills to figure out who owns these internet sites. http://www.educationalconsultingfirm.org/index.htm North
The front page also repeats a couple of paragraphs twice. This stuff appeals to uhhhh.....less than..........uhhhh... what is the phrase John uses. Anyway, if anyone can tell me who this site is registered to that would be great. North

Online ordination is available to WCICC members. One must pass an online exam of 25 questions. www.wcicc.org/services/ordination.html
http://www.betterwhois.com/ is worth trying if you are curious. I'm sure that other people here have their favourite URLs for checking these things out.
Actually, the organization itself is fairly credible. They do have the doctrinal/scriptural on-line test but also require pastoral references, background checks and education to support a call. This is not a lot different than other independent ordination organizations such as International Ministerial Fellowship and the Evangelical Church Alliance (??). WCICC, IMF, and ECA are all Department of Defense (military, Veterans Affairs) recognized endorsing agencies. WCICC is a UN NGO and also is an endorsing agent for the Bureau of Prisons. They have churches & missions through out the world as does IMF & ECA. Independent ordination is different when you look at it from the point from view of a Lutheran or Episcopalian but to be frank when I first came to the US I was shocked at all the denominations here and that some of them ordained folks without MDiv's. I still have a hard time with the education issue. This is not helped by having met a couple of very ignorant, immature, Rev's. As an side, in Canada the military chaplaincy is far more restricted (I think you have RC Chaplains, Anglican United Church, Lutheran, maybe Baptist). My gradmother considered anyone who was not United Church, Lutheran, RC, or Anglican to be 'peculiar'. So, as far as independent ordination goes I think you have to look at other issues such as external recognition (eg Dept. of Defense, VA, etc). Steve Levicoff adds that they should also be doing reference and background checks which these three do. Organizations such as the ULC do not do any of these or have the external recognitions. North
