"On one application for an assisted living facility license in 1996, he said his highest degree was a doctorate from the University of Kansas but that he did not complete the dissertation. On another document in 1998, he noted attending school in Kansas but also said he got a doctorate from the University of Western Pacific in Honolulu.

"That's a mistake," he said Friday.

He told the court that his completed dissertation was approved in the late 1980s by Columbia Pacific University in California through a long-distance learning program. But the school never became accredited and dissolved before he received a doctorate certificate, he said."

He can't handle the truth. If his dissertation was completed in the late 1980s, he waited over 10 years of continued operation by Columbia Pacific University for his degree. Wasn't he the slightest bit curious why nothing arrived in the mail?

I believe CPU student records still exist and simple verification would be possible should he want it badly enough.

Yes but when all hell breaks loose and documents don't arrive the first thing to do is blame the post office? It's in the mail!

I like the following quote from the article:

""I thought that I was functioning at a Ph.D. level," he said. "I felt that I'd earned it.""

It must be a good feeling. A.B.D. students could make a similar claim. ;)
