While not related to a degree program or DL, this was interesting. While shopping for a reputable auto mechanic I came across several Yellow Page advertisements which stated that the mechanics were "ASE Certified." As any legitimate DegreeInfo senior member would do, I immediately put the Google in overdrive and came across the following:

    www.asecert.org/subchannels/about_profile.cfm

I only hope there are no certification mills which exist.

From this point forward, all mechanics who work on the Morris vehicle(s) will be asked, "Are you ASE certified?"

If they aren't, my reply shall be, "Put the tools back in the tool box, pal, I'm off to the nearest ASE certified service center." ;)

In Ontario, tradesmen are required to submit their exams directly to the provincial government. The Ministry of Colleges, Universities and Trades oversees all licensing and certifications. A mechanic that does not have a MCUT certified license is a fake. That goes for a barber, a hairdresser, a landscaper, an electrician and a plumber. They are also by law requried to display their licenses in their place of business.
