But not for reasons immediately obvious: (most of) Indiana doesn't do the DST thing.

U.S. springs ahead; Hoosiers sleep in.

    . . .

But while even Hollywood pokes fun of Indiana's time-out-of-sync character -- remember that episode last fall on "The West Wing?" -- some people, like Fort Lauderdale, Fla., marketing consultant Sheila Danzig, praise us.

"Totally ahead of the curve," said Danzig, who, with her two sons, David and Greg, founded the Web site: www.standardtime.com to gather opposition to this twice-yearly time fiddle.

"At least you're not causing sleep deprivation in April, which leads to more accidents. At least you're not causing people to go around for three weeks discovering more clocks, VCRs and watches in dressers."

Never could understand the reasoning behind DST. It doesn't seem to hurt anything. There is a lot of stuff we don't fiddle with, why time?

Because it's there, Dennis. Because it's there.

It's the nature of human beings (cunning little monkeys) to fiddle with anything they can get their hands on.

Actually, I like daylight savings time.

If we are gonna have longer days in summer, we might as well take the extra daytime from the early morning when we would sleep through it, and put it in the evening when we can enjoy it after work.
