Has the extreme left hijacked academia??

There is an interesting article in the current American Legion magazine that puts forth a very compelling argument that the higher levels of academia (tenured professors at major universities) are almost totally controlled by left-wing extremists.

In additon to the outrageous Peter Kirstein incident (which was mostly ignored by the media), the article gives other examples of extreme left-wing faculty supressing free speech and dissent, while at the same time celebrating diversity. I guess "diversity" is okay, as long as it fits into their belief system.

Now, almost on cue, comes Columbia University Assistant Professor of Anthropology, Nicholas De Genova, who this week publicy advocated the defeat of the US Military, and the deaths of millions of US servicemen.

We're now learning that even women civilians who wave to coalition forces in Iraq are being publicly hanged by the Fedayeen. I wonder....if Dr. De Genova lived in Iraq, what would happen after his anti-government tirade????

It has been hijacked. Check out David Horowitz's website for a pretty good selection of articles, just for a start:

From personal experience -- and this might seem incredible -- I was ushered out of a humanities graduate department in a major Southern university, very nearly violently, on the perception that I was "too politically conservative for graduate-level research." Lost my Ph.D.-track program, and they must have got the perception from my cheap $15 polo shirts or something, because I never opened my mouth all that much. (In reality, I'm too thick-witted to understand most politics, and tend to be middle of the road Republican, but not entirely convinced.)

And this was a department stocked with loud white feminists, loud white gay-oriented individuals, several white Marxists (all loud), a few bewildered recent B.A. grads (yes, all white), and one token African-American lecturer (treated with excessive caution and deference in work, but excluded from everything social). It's weird that I liked them better than they liked me, under the circumstances.

But that's anecdotal evidence -- other experiences?

This Peter Kerstein fellow appears to be a royal clown. His photo is attached as proof.

De Genova is a very lucky man. If I were in his presence, he would be on his back favoring a broken jaw.

It's no different than a right wing moron hijacking the White House.

    Please Read this Closely

This may seem hard to believe, but the above quote has some sort of a program or virus in it that automatically scrambles the name of Peter N. Kirstein so that it is unreadable. In order for you to be able to read his name in the above quote, I had to space the letters apart (between his name) to deactivate his counter-intelligence e.g. I had to use counter-counter intelligence. Goodness gracious, these leftist professors are tricky with the technology!!!

For proof, look at his name in the following three identical quotes:

    Sample #1:
    Sample #2:
    Sample #3:
Folks, this is real intelligence, counter-intelligence and counter-counter intelligence at work. You can see it with your own eyes.

Please duplicate it for yourself to prove it to yourself and then please share your thoughts.

They would certainly like to. Of course, so would the extreme right. Both groups are assholes, and both groups would like to create safe spaces in higher education from which to indoctrinate tomorrow's leaders and effect their versions of social change.

I don't think that the left is doing anything different than the right is doing, but in the post-60's "baby boomer" environment, they have been considerably more successful at it.

Consider the right: You have things like TRACS. This accreditor demands, as a condition of accreditation, that all institutions have a Biblical (interpreted in a Protestant theological-right manner) foundation and that they only hire committed evangelical Christians as faculty.

The left is a lot more subtle (and effective). They preach diversity of opinion and freedom of expression. But you know as well as I do that many humanities departments are left dominated and will only consider leftists for faculty appointments. But they would never admit it, and would argue that its simply a fact that leftists always seem to have the best academic credentials.

The left schools require incoming freshmen to attend politicized orientation meetings. The right schools demand chapel attendance.

What you have is the left dominating the humanities and social "sciences" in many "top tier" prestige universities. The right has taken up an alienated/oppositional position in a galaxy of smaller, often church run "alternative" schools.

That's ironic, when you reflect that it is the left's mantra that they are outsiders and that they are attacking the system in the name of change. Yet in higher education at least, they are the "establishment".

    Right wing moron?

    Let's see:

    *Bachelor's degree from Yale.

    *F-102 "Delta Dagger" pilot.

    *MBA from Harvard.

*First Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms.

    *President of the United States.

You, little man, are not fit to shine my President's cowboy boots.
