The phrase "Shock & Awe" has been used repeatedly by the media/military in recent days. Relating this concept to DL is interesting. For example, one experiences "Shock & Awe" when one realizes that:

    1) A Ph.D. can be obtained for $199 at American College.
    2) ACI accredits over 150 schools (an ACI subculture).
    3) Very soon both Levicoff and Rich Douglas will be Union Ph.D.'s.
    4) Honorary doctorates ain't really real doctorates.
    5) A guy can't get any respect for his Trinity C&U doctorate.
    6) Etc.......................................

Any other "Shock & Awe" experiences?

    Cute. Very cute. :)

I was shocked to learn that a 100 dollar Ph.D could be purchased online and I was in awe when the idiot presented his credentials as if they were real. :D

Yeah, I'm shocked and awed by the innane, crass jokes that people can make about such a grave subject.

Got any good Holocaust jokes? How about a comparison of D.L. to September 11?

No innane/crass jokes have been made "about" such a grave subject as the Iraqi crisis. The phrase "Shock and Awe" was used via analogy, and is no different than stating that those who use fake degrees could have a twin towers experience, i.e., come crashing down professionally. No fun/pun intended regarding the Iraqi crisis, only a borrowing of the phrase.

The term "blitzkrieg" (lightning warfare) was used when Hitler annexed Poland. If one uses the term "blitzkrieg" in reference to earning a lightning fast degree, has one made an innane/crass joke about the innocent Polish people of that conflict? No. The phrase has been borrowed to contrast the absurdity of certain aspects of obtaining a degree.
